Fire at Red Olive cafe, Ulverstone
At 2.30am on Tuesday the 14th December 2010 Tasmania Police were informed of a fire occurring at the Red Olive Café located at 26 King Edward Street, Ulverstone.
Tasmania Fire Service, Ulverstone Brigade, attended and contained the fire to prevent it from spreading to neighbouring buildings. The fire was extinguished and the building and contents suffered extensive damage believed to be in excess of $250,000.
Ulverstone police, Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch and Forensic Services attended the structural fire and have examined the scene.
Preliminary investigations from Fire Scene Investigators cause Tasmania Police to suspect that the cause of the fire may be suspicious.
Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch is currently investigating the fire.
Police are seeking information from members of the public who may have seen anyone in the vicinity of the Café on late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.
