At about 10.25pm on Thursday 4^th October, 2012 police and Tas Fire Service officers attended a fire at Doaks Road, Lilydale. This is a timber yard and sawmill.

Although the fire was extinguished quickly, considerable damage had already been suffered to the building and items of machinery that were housed inside. Initial estimates are that the cost of replacement is in the vicinity of $600,000 

The cause of the fire has not been established at this stage. A fire scene examiner will be attending early morning on 5/10/12.
