Faulty Heaters Removed From Rubbish Bin – Potential Fire Risk

Between Saturday 18 July and Sunday 19 July 2015, a number of ‘Homemaker’ brand 2400W Radiant Heaters were removed from a rubbish bin of a Hobart retailer.

As a precaution, the retailer had removed the heaters from sale due to a potential fire risk, but the heaters had not been rendered inoperative prior to being placed in the rubbish.

Although some of the heaters have been recovered, approximately 40 heaters remain unaccounted for.

With the potential fire risk of these heaters, police are urging anyone with one in their possession to destroy them immediately.
