Police can confirm that a man has died after being struck by a bus in the Rosny Bus mall at 1.30pm today.

Tasmania Police, Ambulance Tasmania and Tasmania Fire Service all attended.

A man believed to be aged 50-60 died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Tasmania Police investigators are currently conducting interviews and CCTV footage has been obtained from the Metro Bus and from cameras in the Rosny Bus Mall in a effort to identify how this tragic incident has occurred.

Police are calling for anyone who was in the bus mall and who witnessed the incident to come forward.

In particular, police would like to speak to a woman who knocked on the bus window and spoke to the driver immediately following the incident.

Workplace Standards and Tasmania Police’s crash investigation and forensics teams are currently investigating the matter.

It is expected that the Rosny Bus Mall will remain closed for at least another hour while the on-scene investigation continues.
