Tasmania Police can confirm that a man in his late 20s has died today at Tooms Lake, Oatlands after a boat overturned.

A teenage boy was also on the dinghy and received medical treatment at the scene.

Police were called to the incident at 1.40pm after the boy walked for several hours to raise the alarm.

It is understood the incident occurred early this morning.

The two men are not related.
