At approximately 6.50pm on Sunday 17 of September 2017, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Ambulance were called to the junction of Penguin Road and Westland Drive in West Ulverstone in relation to a crash between a Nissan utility and a Yamaha motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike when it collided with the utility as the utility pulled onto Penguin Road.  The rider died at the scene.  The driver of the Nissan utility was uninjured.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.  Alcohol and speed are not considered to have been factors.

Any witnesses to the incident are urged to contact police through Crime stoppers or on 131444.

Family have requested the deceased’s name not be released.
