Fatal Two vehicle Crash, Domain Highway Hobart

Police Crash Investigators are calling for witnesses, following a fatal two vehicle crash on the Domain Highway, Hobart.

At 7.10am, Police were alerted to a two vehicle crash involving a Toyota sedan and refrigerated rigid truck.

A 33-year-old woman from Moonah was driving a Blue Toyota Altise from the Tasman Bridge towards the Brooker Highway.  Investigations suggest that her car has veered to the incorrect side of the road when negotiating an open curve a short distance east of the junction of Upper Domain Road.

At this time a rigid refrigerated truck (white in colour) was travelling in the opposite direction.  The front ends of both vehicles have impacted at the driver’s side.

Members of the public assisted emergency services personnel in attempts to resuscitate the woman driver however sadly she died from her injuries.

The truck driver, a 51-year-old Goodwood man was not physically injured but was badly shaken.

Police crash investigators would like to hear from anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the incident or who may have actually witnessed the crash. The principal investigator, Sergeant Rod Carrick can be contacted on 131 444.
