On Thursday 10th May 2012 at about 9.13am a fatal crash has occurred on Ringarooma Road about 2km East of Legerwood. A red International prime mover laden with potatoes has crashed into the rear of a blue Volvo truck that was engaged in road maintenance work. A male road maintenance worker was operating machinery behind the Volvo truck at this time and was crushed between both trucks. He was killed instantly as a result.

The crash is being investigated by police and at this stage speed is not believed to be a factor.
