A 13 year old school girl from Karanja died as the result of being struck by a vehicle on Gordon River Road at Karanja at 3.15pm on Wednesday the 29^th day of February 2012.

The girl had just alighted from a stationary school bus that was opposite Karanja Court.  She ran across the road (south to north) from behind the bus and was struck by a white Ford utility which was travelling along Gordon River Roadin an easterly direction.  She died at the scene.

At the time of the incident there were a number of children on the school bus.

The school bus had the flashing amber lights operating at the time.

The crash investigator, Sergeant Rod CARRICK, would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or seen the vehicles immediately prior to the incident.
