Fatal pedestrian crash at Glenorchy 

 

Sadly, a 12 year old boy has died following a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Main Road, Glenorchy, this afternoon.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene near Cosgrove High School shortly after 3pm.

Sadly, despite attempts by emergency responders, the boy sadly passed away at the scene.

Our thoughts are with the boy’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

Investigations into the crash are continuing, with forensics and crash investigators deployed to the scene.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for mandatory blood testing.

Main Road Glenorchy remains closed between Elwick Road and Lampton Avenue.

It’s expected to remain closed for several hours while police carry out investigations.
