FATAL PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICLE COLLISION IN VERMONT ROAD, MOWBRAY

At 1.25 pm on Tuesday 5 February 2013 a collision involving a vehicle and a road worker occurred on Vermont Road, Mowbray, near Bill Grove.

At the time a 62 year old male from Ravenswood was conducting traffic control duties on the roadway, when he was struck by a northbound white Nissan Navara flat tray utility.  The utility was being driven by 57 year old male from Mayfield.

As a result of the collision the male was conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital were he later died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The driver of the utility was not injured.

Police are asking any witnesses to the incident or who may have any information in the relation to the vehicle or the road works to contact the Northern Crash Investigation Section on 63363701.
