At 10.38am on Saturday 1^st December 2012, a fatal motorcycle crash has occurred, on the Midland Highway, 56 metres south of the intersection with Esk Highway, Conara.

A black 250cc Suzuki has been travelling south, lost control and impacted into the Armco railing on the eastern side of the roadway. The sole rider of the motorcycle, a 45 year old female from Ulverstone, died at the scene.

Police are investigating the crash and do not believe, speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.  High winds were reported by other motorcyclists in the area and this is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
