Fatal motorcycle crash at Midland Highway, Brighton
A motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle crash on the Midland Hwy at Brighton at about 10.30pm last night.
The man, aged 27, was from the Greater Hobart area.
At around 10:30pm the motorcycle was travelling North on the Midland Highway (Brighton Bypass) at Bridgewater toward Brighton, when the rider crashed into the wire barrier.
As a result of the crash the North-bound lanes of the Midland Highway between the turn off to Glenstone Road and Brighton Road were closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
The road was reopened at around 4am.
Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or driving behaviour leading up to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call  Bridgewater Police on 131 444.
