A 25 year old man from Kings Meadows has this morning been charged with Manslaughter following the investigation into a fatal motor vehicle crash on Evandale Road, Western Junction on 7th November 2014.

A 54 year old woman from Evandale died when a blue Ford XR6 collided head-on with the side of her Nissan Navara, as she turned into her driveway.

The offending vehicle had previously been detected, by police, speeding through the Evandale township.

Given that attempts were made to intercept the offending vehicle prior to the crash, members from Professional Standards were overseeing the investigation.

The professional standards review into the incident continues.

The man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates court this morning.
