At 1.40am today (Friday 18 March 2011) Launceston police attended the scene of an accidental death at the Coats Paton (Door of Hope) site in South Launceston.

Investigations are continuing into this incident but at this stage it would appear that the deceased person, a 20 year old Launceston man, was walking across the roof of this building at which point the roof gave way underneath him. The male fell a considerable distance, suffering fatal injuries.

There are no suspicious circumstances and investigations are being conducted by police in conjunction with Work Place Standards.
