Approximately 4.15 pm on Tuesday the 25^th of October, police and emergency services were called to attend the scene of a single vehicle crash on Uxbridge Road, Uxbridge, in the Derwent Valley. 

The sole male occupant of the vehicle was travelling north on the unsealed road approximately 3 km’s away from Bushy Park, and lost control of his vehicle shortly after negotiating a right hand bend.  It is unclear at this stage what the primary cause of the accident was, however alcohol and excessive speed are not believed to be a contributing factors.

The male driver died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

Investigations will be continuing, and a report has been prepared for the Coroner.
