Fatal Crash Ulverstone update
Western District Crash Investigation officers continue the investigation into the double fatality at the intersection of Queen Street and Hobbs Parade, Ulverstone yesterday and will prepare a report for the Coroner. From initial investigations there are indications that the driver of the vehicle may have suffered from a medical issue shortly before the crash.
At this stage, names have not been released, however some further details are as follows;
The driver of the vehicle was a 65 year old female Ulverstone resident (deceased).
The rear passenger was an 81 year old female Ulverstone resident (deceased).
The front seat passenger, an 83 year old female Ulverstone resident, was transported to NWRH in a serious condition. Her condition has been upgraded to stable. She sustained multiple fractures and other non-life threatening injuries.
The pedestrian, a 63 year old man from Ulverstone sustained leg injuries during the crash. His condition has improved and he may be discharged from hospital later today.
This will now be a matter for the coroner to make a formal finding on.
