A 84 year old man from Rosetta died as the result of a two vehicle crash on Main Road, Montrose on Monday the 18^th day of January 2016.  The crash occurred at approximately 1.55pm.

At the time the deceased was the driver and sole occupant of a white Hyundai Getz.  The vehicle was travelling in a southerly direction on Main Road.

A short distance south of the junction of Marys Hope Road a head-on crash occurred between the Hyundai Getz and a grey Suzuki Vitara 4WD which was being driven in a northerly direction by a 41 year old Claremont man.

The Claremont man was conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital.  His injuries are not regarded as serious.

The crash occurred in the north bound lane on a straight section of road.

Crash investigators would like to speak to any person who may have witnessed the crash or seen either vehicle prior to the collision.
