Fatal Crash Murchison Highway near Tullah

At 10.22am Sunday 30 September 2012 a blue Ford Falcon sedan was discovered crashed on the Murchison Highway, 6.4km north from Tullah.

It appears that the vehicle had travelled north, around a sharp left curve when the driver and sole occupant lost control. The vehicle spun in an anti clockwise rotation and slid 33 meters across a gravel pull off area before colliding driver’s side first into a gum tree.

Paramedics attended the scene however the driver a 51 year old female from Wynyard was deceased.

Weather at the time was overcast and the road was wet. Investigations into the cause are continuing. No names have been released and an inquest has been opened into the matter.
