Approximately 12.40pm on Sunday 25^th October 2015 a crash occurred on Highland Lakes Road Apsley.

A black Harley Davidson motor cycle being ridden by an 18 year old man from Bothwell was travelling east on Highland Lakes Road Apsley.

The rider has failed to negotiate a slight right hand curve and travelled along the gravel road edge where the motor cycle collided with a culvert.

The rider has sustained head and facial injuries as a result of the crash.  He was assisted by witnesses at the scene.  He was transported by Ambulance to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the motor cycle just prior to the collision.

Investigations are continuing.
