An 83 year old man from Brooks Bay died as a result of a single vehicle crash on the Huon Highway approximately 100 metres south of Arve Road on Saturday the 25^th day of May 2013 at 10.10am.

At that time the deceased was driving a purple Honda Jazz in a southerly direction on the Huon Highway.  The driver crossed to the incorrect side of the road whilst travelling through a left hand bend.   The vehicle has then continued south and collided with an Aurora pole on the right hand side of the road.

 Ambulance personnel attended the scene and provided treatment, unfortunately the driver died whilst being transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

 The deceased was the only occupant of his vehicle at the time of the crash. Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police would like to hear from any person who may any information regarding the circumstances of the crash.
