At about 0920 hrs on Wednesday 31 July 2013 a single motor vehicle crash occurred on Deviot Road, Deviot.

A silver Volvo station wagon was travelling in a northerly direction on Deviot Road north of Motor Road when it left the road and impacted with a tree causing minor damage to its front left corner.  The 42 year old male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

There are no indications that speed, road conditions or vehicle defects are factors in the crash. A post mortem will be conducted to determine a cause of death.

Police are still attempting to contact the next of kin.
