A 54 year old woman from Colebrook died as a result of a two vehicle crash on Colebrook Road near Campania at approximately 5.30am on Monday 14^th of April 2014.

The deceased was the driver and sole occupant of a blue Toyota Corolla hatch which was being driven south on Colebrook Road.

At this time a grey Mitsubishi van being driven by a 45 year old man from Victoria was travelling in the opposite direction.  The Mitsubishi van has veered to the incorrect side of the road and a head on crash has occurred between the two vehicles.

Attempts to revive the deceased at the crash scene were unsuccessful.  The driver of the van was conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by ambulance.  He was admitted to hospital.  His injuries are not life threatening.

The crash investigator, Senior Constable Kelly Cordwell would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or seen either vehicle prior to the incident.
