A 53 year old man has died after a motorcycle crash on Thunder and Lightning Road on Cape Barren Island.

The crash occurred sometime overnight, and was discovered just after 7am this morning by a local resident.

The man, from The Corner on Cape Barren Island, was riding his motorcycle on Thunder and Lightning Road  when he collided with a wallaby.  The man was not wearing a helmet.

Police officers from Flinders Island travelled to Cape Barren Island this morning by boat.  Forensics officers are flying to the Island to attend the scene.
