At 11am on Sunday 1^st December 2013, a silver 2010 Hyundai i20 hatch was travelling east on Bridport Road.  As the vehicle was 10.2 kilometres east of Pipers Brooks Road it has crossed the double continuous centre line.  This vehicle then drove into the path of a west bound 2003 Mercedes Benz prime mover.

The 92 year old male driver of the Hyundai has died at the scene.  The 63 year old driver of the prime mover was not injured in the crash.  There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Police Forensic and Northern Crash Investigation Services Officers attended the crash. Police are yet to determine why the Hyundai has crossed onto the incorrect side of the road.
