At 12.34 pm on Monday 15th September 2014, a fatal crash has occurred on the Bass Highway just east of Illawarra Road in the Meander Valley Municipality.

A west bound white Suzuki Vitara wagon has crossed the centre dividing line and impacted head on with the front of an east bound white Mack prime mover, loaded with logs.

The driver of the Suzuki a male from the Launceston area, has died instantly in the crash. The driver of the Mack, a 27 yr old male from Bracknell was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Northern Crash Investigations and Forensic Police attended the scene.
