Fatal 4 Vehicle Collision at Burnie (9-Jul) – Name Released
Tasmania Police have released the name of the male person killed in yesterday’s multi-vehicle collision on the Bass Highway at Camdale.
He was 40 year old Anthony Dean WEEKES from Verelle Street, Burnie.
Mr WEEKES was killed when the Holden Clubsport he was a front seat passenger in lost control whilst overtaking an east bound log truck at the East Cam Road junction. The Holden subsequently lost control and slid into the rear wheel of a west bound tanker before being hit by a west bound Nissan Navara 4wd utility.
The driver of the Holden remains in a critical condition in the NWRH, Burnie whilst a third person in the vehicle was discharged from hospital later that day.
Investigations into the matter are on-going and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
