Elwick Hotel Armed Robbery – Investigations Ongoing
Police have released images obtained from CCTV footage as part of ongoing investigations into an armed robbery at the Elwick Hotel this morning.
Detective Inspector Craig Joel said: “Detectives have released an image of the suspect’s car and also a firearm discharged by the man”.
The Subaru was stolen from West Hobart last night and was seen in Lindisfarne shortly before 3am.
The vehicle has been driven elsewhere around greater Hobart and police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen it.
The firearm produced by the man is also distinctive with a torch attached to the barrel and a strap clipped to it.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has seen this firearm before, or who may have had one like it stolen.
Detective Inspector Joel commended the staff of the Hotel who followed security measures and policies which kept them safe and helped secure evidence for police.
