At 7:09pm Launceston Uniformed officers attended the intersection of Abbott Street and Arthur Street East Launceston as a result of a single vehicle low speed crash involving a female occupant aged in her 70s. 

The driver was physically uninjured and had collided with the Alps and Amici business causing minor damage. 

The driver was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for a medical assessment.  

The driver was submitted to a breath analysis and returned a reading of 0.187%. As a result, the driver was immediately disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months and is to be proceeded against for high range drink driving.
