On Tuesday 2 August 2011 a 22 year old Kings Meadows man was charged with breaking into cars and houses in the Newstead and East Launceston areas.

He was targeting money, electrical equipment and tools from cars parked on the street and in open carports and driveways.

He was charged and bailed to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in September 2011.

Many of the properties and cars were either unlocked or not properly secured.

It is a timely reminder for members of the public to ensure their cars are locked and secured and property of value removed.
