At 10:35pm on Thursday 23rd January 2014, Tasmania Police and the Tasmania Fire Service were called to attend a unit fire at Pioneer Parade, Ravenswood.

The unit was well ablaze when Tasmania Fire Service arrived at the scene.  The dwelling was completely destroyed, and damage is estimated at approximately $180,000.  The cause of the fire is undetermined and the cause will be investigated by Tasmania Police and the Tasmania Fire Service.

The Housing Tasmania property although tenanted, was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no persons were injured.
