At 6.22am on Wednesday, 25 December 2013, Deloraine Police attended 36 Tower Hill Street, Deloraine relevant to a dwelling fire. Members of Tasmania Fire Service had quelled the blaze upon police attendance.

At this stage it appears the fire may have resulted from an electrical fault. Total value of the damage has not yet been determined however the dwelling, a 1950s weatherboard structure was completely destroyed.

The sole occupant, a 66 year old male was assessed by Tasmania Ambulance Personnel, whereby it was established nil injuries were sustained as a result of the blaze.
