Drugs seized from Outlaws clubhouse in Glenorchy
Tasmania Police has this morning conducted a drug and firearms related search warrant at the Outlaws clubhouse in Glenorchy.
Detective Inspector Jason Elmer said that the clubhouse was highly fortified and the Bearcat was used to effect entry at 4.30am today.
“We are still searching the premises but a small quantity of cannabis and ice has been located so far,” he said.
“We make no apology for the damage caused. The premises is occupied by members of a criminal organisation who have fortified the premises to frustrate police entry. The damage caused was as a result of that fortification.”
Detective Inspector Elmer said that Tasmania Police was committed to disrupting the activities of criminal organisations.
“We will do what is necessary to hold these criminals to account and will continue to closely monitor their activities and movements.
“The Tasmanian community does not want these criminal gangs here,” he said.
