On Sunday, 19 January 2014 Longford Police executed a search warrant upon a property situated at Cressy.

As a result of the search approximately 20 cannabis plants were located along with several bags of dried cannabis, smoking devices and cannabis seeds.

The search also resulted in the seizure of 6 unregistered firearms and a quantity of ammunition all owned by the occupant, who has never held a firearms licence. None of the firearms seized were stored in accordance with current legislative requirements.

The 50 year old male occupant was interviewed and as a result will be charged by summons for a variety of offences under the provisions of the Misuse of Drugs Act and the Firearms Act.
