Members from Western Drug Investigation Services, assisted by officers from Smithton Uniform, conducted searches by warrant in the Smithton area over a period of two days, 27 and 28 November 2013.

As a result of these searches a number of people face charges relevant to both drugs and, in one case, firearms.

A 38 year old Smithton man has been charged in relation to trafficking in a controlled substance relevant to both methylamphetamine and cannabis.

A 35 year old Smithton woman has been charged in relation to the sale/supply of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

A 30 year old Smithton man has been charged in relation to selling cannabis and possession of unregistered firearms without the relevant licence.

The two men have been bailed to appear in the Smithton Magistrates Court on 6 February 2014.
