On Saturday 18 September 2021 about 10.45am a 42 year old female person from Bicheno was recreationally diving at Waubs Landing Area, Bicheno in company of a second person. The pair were diving in shallow water close to shore when the female began to experience difficulties. The females dive partner came to her aid and the female was assisted from the water unconcious. Members of the public assisted with CPR and the female was conveyed by helicoptor to the Royal Hobart Hospital where she later passed away. Police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
