Drivers urged to take care after Liffey crash
Police are reminding motorists to take care on the state’s roads after a crash at Liffey yesterday.
Police and emergency services were called after a car rolled down a steep embankment on Gulf Road at Liffey on Sunday.
The driver and two passengers – all tourists visiting the state from Germany – avoided serious injuries, however the car sustained significant damage.
Acting Inspector Martin Parker said with increased traffic expected throughout the holiday period, drivers were urged to remain vigilant.
“Fortunately the three occupants escaped the crash with minor injuries, however it could have been a very different result,” he said.
“We are urging all road users to remain vigilant and allow for extra travel time.
“Tasmanian roads can be narrow, winding, and have sharp corners, and weather conditions can be unpredictable. If you are visiting the state and travelling on our roads, drive to the conditions, and be on the lookout in rural areas for gravel roads, roadkill, livestock, and other potential hazards.”
