DPP advice: Lucille Butterworth
Tasmania Police has accepted the advice of the DPP not to pursue charges in the murder of Lucille Butterworth.
“While it is understandably disappointing for Ms Butterworth’s family and the investigation team, we acknowledge the DPP’s advice in relation to the likelihood of conviction,” said Assistant Commissioner Glenn Frame.
“I would again like to thank the investigators, Inspector David Plumpton (retired), Senior Constable Christine Rushton and Constable Carey Millhouse who were committed in their efforts to bring the case before the Coroner.
“Their dedication to the pursuit of answers for the Butterworth family is to be commended,” said Mr Frame.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Miss Butterworth.
