At approximately 11.20 am, Tuesday 14 December 2010, a two vehicle fatal crash occurred on the Midland Highway, Conara.

The crash has occurred approximately 1 km south of Esk Highway on a sweeping left bend, when a south bound green Kia Mentor sedan has crossed to the incorrect side of the road, colliding with the front of a north bound silver Mitsubishi Starwagon.

The female driver of the Kia and front seat passenger of the Mitsubishi died at the scene.

The female driver and two children from the Mitsubishi were conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital with minor to serious injuries.
