On the evening of Thursday 14^th February 2013, Police and ambulance personnel were called to a report of a dog attack on a 10 year old child in Deloraine.

The child was walking with his parents when the attack happened.

The child was bitten on the shoulder, face, ear and neck and received significant injuries. The child was taken to hospital, where he remains.

The owner of the dog who was present at the time is assisting police and will be proceeded against by summons.

The dog has been euthanased.
