Disposal of Hazardous Material – Austins Ferry
Approximately 3:15pm on Thursday the 8th of September 2022 police responded to an incident on Main Road, Austins Ferry.
During police attendance, they determined that the residence contained hazardous substances which may have been used in the manufacturing of illicit drugs.
Tasmania Fire Service and the Tasmania Police Bomb Response Group attended the address to assist with the disposal of the potentially hazardous material. The material was safely disposed of without incident about 9.00pm.
Police would like to thank the public for their patience in relation to the road closures surrounding the incident.
A 30 year old male is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
