Tasmania Police is responding to an incident in William Street, Devonport, involving a firearm.

Police were called about 1am in response to reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival police located one person deceased, and a further two people injured.

The firearm has been recovered by police and there is no further concern for community safety.

People are asked to stay away from the area while investigations continue.
