Police attended a protest at Joy Road, Upper Blessington, which was reported about 7.15 this morning. Seven protesters were at the site when police arrived, and 6 left the area on direction of police.

One man remained up a tree with a rope attached to a metal tripod across the road.  

Police Search and Rescue officers attended and assessed it was safe to remove the tripod from the road. The man refused to leave the tree.
