On Thursday 29 July 2010, police confirmed that a deceased male was located at the base of a cliff at the bottom of Mirramar Park, Kingston.  Although the identity of the youth was confirmed as Dean Andrew Causby, the name was withheld from being published pending notification to the deceased’s parents.  This course of action was taken at the request of a family member.

Although some media outlets decided to publish the identity of the deceased, I am able to confirm that the name of the deceased was not released by Tasmania Police.

Any member of the public who has information relating to a male youth seen climbing the cliff face below Mirramar Park on Monday 26 July 2010, is requested to contact the Kingston Police on (03) 6211 8000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
