Dangerous Driving Launceston

 On Tuesday 4th June 2013 at about 5:30 pm, Launceston police received information from a concerned driver in respect of the behaviour of a silver Mitsubishi Lancer being driven by a man on the Kings Meadows Connector.

The vehicle was being driven in an erratic and dangerous manner. 

The Lancer travelled onto the Southern Outlet and around the edge of the city before heading into Trevallyn where it was intercepted by police.  The 55 year old male driver was taken to the Launceston Police Station where he underwent a breathanalysis that resulted in a reading of 0.352, seven times 0.05 limit.  The driver has been charged with a number of offences and bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Police would like to speak to any member of the community who witnessed the Lancer being driven in this manner, particularly any member of the community who was directly affected by the unsafe driving.  Witnesses can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the investigating officer, Senior Sergeant Jason Jones at the Newnham Police Station on (03) 6326 6349.
