Vehicle driving in a dangerous manner – East Tamar Highway

On Tuesday 15th March 2015 at about 2.30pm, a member of the public reported concerns relating to the driving behaviour of a burgundy Volvo Station wagon.

Responding police observed the vehicle travelling at excessive speed and being driven in a dangerous manner on the East Tamar Highway.

The vehicle was subsequently intercepted and the driver, a 58 year old man from Sidmouth underwent breath analysis and returned a reading of 0.249, (almost five times the legal limit). The driver was charged and immediately disqualified from driving.

Police would like to thank the member of the public for reporting the matter and encourage other road users to actively report incidents of poor or dangerous driving.

Police wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle on the East Tamar Highway between 2pm and 3pm on 15th March 2016. Witnesses are asked to call Constable EAST at George Town Police Station on 6382 4040.
