Crime Stoppers Launches Operation Roam – Fugitive Hunt

Crime Stoppers Australia launched Operation ROAM – Fugitive Hunt today at 9.30am. The campaign aims to arrest Crime Stoppers’ 19 persons of interest.

Crime Stoppers Operation ROAM – Fugitive Hunt will be implemented across the nation from 15 to 29 August 2016.

Crime Stoppers is asking all Australians to make themselves aware of the 19 individuals on the list.

“Tasmanians are urged to visit fugitivehunt.com.au to see whether they recognise a face and report anything they know about them to Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $1,000 is also offered for information that leads to the arrest of any of these wanted persons.” said Crime Stoppers Tasmania Chair, Amanda Castray.

“The police can’t be everywhere at once and the information provided by the public could be the missing piece of the puzzle the police need to catch these fugitives. Please be on the look out for these people, but DO NOT approach them. We simply ask that you call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

“Operation ROAM – Fugitive Hunt requires a whole-of-community response and Tasmania has a role to play. Some of these fugitives may have crossed state-lines, so it is imperative that all Tasmanians keep a look out for those on this year’s list. We will work with Tasmania police, the media and local residents to gather anonymous information that may help locate these wanted persons, even if they are wanted in a different state to where they are seen,” said Ms Castray.

If you think you have information about someone on the Crime Stoppers fugitive list, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestoppers.com.au
