Police in the north of the State advise that they have attended a spate of motor vehicle crashes this morning.  Since 7am, there have been 22 crashes reported to police, the majority of these have resulted from the slippery conditions due to a ice and water on the roads.

Police urge motorists to take care on the roads and to drive to the conditions as the cold weather is likely to continue for the next day or so.
