As at 0830 hours this morning a team of Police and Ambulance Paramedics are currently at New Pelion Hut within the Cradle Mountain National Park with a 60 year old female from NSW.

It appears that the female has a fractured arm and will require extrication.

The Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter is currently attempting to gain access to the area, but is being hampered by poor weather conditions; including snow, wind and low cloud.

If the helicopter cannot access the area then contingency plans are being made for the search team to walk the injured woman out.
