Concern for Welfare – Man on Cliffs – Blackmans Bay
At approximately 7.00am on Monday 15 October 2012 a person walking in the area of the blowhole at Blackmans Bay saw a man standing close to the edge of the nearby cliff top. The man appeared to be either exercising or dancing and he was holding a pole that had ribbons and bells attached. The witness saw the man leap into the air and thought it was possible he leapt from the cliff.
Police were called and attended the scene. A sea and foot search of the area was conducted utilising 2 police boats, a search and rescue team and uniform police, however police found no sign of the man. He is described as approximately 30 years old, unshaven, dark hair and wearing all black with a red symbol on his back.
Police are hoping that the man has returned home unaware of the concerns raised about his welfare. The man has committed no offence and police are asking him to contact Kingston Police on 6211 8000 to confirm that he is safe and well.
